Radio Remote

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Well, the radio remote on Saturday with 107.9 the Mix was pretty darn cool. We had people in playing both the Wii and other games for most of the two hours. It was a little slow to start with the stupid blizzard that blew in that morning, but we had a good time once people managed to get here alive (yay, cheating death!). Dylan, the DJ, and his helper, Dave, were really great to work with. Laura, of course, is one of our new favorite people. Seriously, what’s not to love about a new friend who gave us a great deal on advertising and is so enthusiastic about all things gaming?

Grats to Justin for winning the Wii, and grats to everyone else who won movies and CDs. I’ll post pictures later, but in the meantime, here are a few posted to the radio station web site: http://www.mix1079online.com/album.php?id=7. If you didn’t win and want to try again, I’ve heard they’ll be across the street at the Legends Learning Center next week.

In the meantime, come in and spend money! Er, I mean…um, there are lots of really great gifts here. People will thank you and actually mean it!

Not quite ‘tomorrow’

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Apparently my definition of ‘tomorrow’ is rather flexible. We’re well past my promised schedule of events for the radio remote and I still haven’t got a clue what we’re going to be doing. I think at this point it would be best to say that we’re going to have games and events running all morning and early afternoon and just leave it at that. I do, however, know that the radio station will have their Wii system up and running so you can play games with them (not the one they’re giving away–that one stays in the box).

I also know that we’re going to be giving away a few games and prizes from the store in addition to the radio station prizes. Whether you’re just here to win the Wii or want to be entertained all afternoon, I think you’ll be happy you came.

I have also decided to do away with specific game nights for now. We’ll run events and promotions as they come up, but we’re not getting any participation right now with our open gaming nights. You are always welcome to come in any time to play games with us or anyone else in the store, but we’re not going to be holding regular game nights until there is more of an interest in them.

Munchkin Quest Follow-Up and Remote Broadcast Announcement

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Well, we were having so much fun at the Munchkin Quest launch party that I forgot to take pictures. Dennis from Steve Jackson Games was great with organizing and playing. He also gave out some pretty fun prizes to people who brought their own game and to those who stayed to play a full game. We had three games running for most of the evening, so that was pretty great.

In other news, we are so excited to have 107.9 the Mix coming to do a remote broadcast this Saturday from 11am to 1pm. They will be giving away a Wii in addition to the usual cool stuff radio stations give away when they do these things. We will also be running game demos and tournaments while the station is here, so there will be a lot to do. Check back tomorrow for a full list of events.

Munchkin Quest

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Dennis from Steve Jackson Games is coming into the store today to run a Munchkin Quest launch party. He’ll have copies of the game available to play and will be giving away prizes. It’s free and should be a real blast, so come on in and join us! I’ll be taking pictures and posting them after we’re done.
